Field to Fork

Know where your food comes from.

An unhurried, educational way to connect with what you eat: from the hedgerow, hive and henhouse to the fire and the table.

Freshly foraged golden chanterelle mushrooms lying on grass

Fire, honey and the season’s finds.

Building this one step at a time. Our field-to-fork experiences are still taking shape, so none are bookable yet. Register interest to hear as each one is ready.

The idea

Good food starts long before the kitchen.

Most of us are a long way from where our food begins. Field to fork closes that gap, calmly and respectfully: seeing how good food is produced, learning to prepare it well, and then sitting down to eat it together.

It’s about skill, stewardship and flavour — never about trophies or shock. Whether it’s a hedgerow supper, honey straight from a comb or a masterclass in preparing game, the point is the same: waste less, waste nothing, and enjoy it properly.

The whole journey

From land to plate, everything we do here is built on care for the animals, for the countryside and for the people at the table.

How it works

From the land to the table.

  1. Meet the land

Start outdoors: walk the hedgerows, see the hives and meet the hens.

  2. Learn the skill

Hands-on guidance in gathering, preparing and understanding what you’ve got.

  3. Cook it well

Turn it into something delicious, often over an open fire.

  4. Share the table

Sit down together and eat food you know the story of.

Experiences

In the kitchen and around the fire.

  • Launching first our opening phase
  • In development being built or prepared
  • Coming later planned, not yet under way

Game-prep & butchery masterclasses

Coming later

Learn to prepare game properly — from careful butchery to getting the best out of it in the kitchen. Practical, respectful and firmly about good food.

Campfire cookery & open-fire dining

Coming later

Cooking over the fire, and dining nights where the fire is the star. Simple ingredients, big flavour.

Foraging walks

Coming later

A guided walk for hedgerow and wild food, and ideas for what to cook with the results.

From the hive & the henhouse

Small things that make a big impression.

Not every part of the story is about cooking. Some of the best days are the gentlest — and the ones children remember.

Beekeeping & honey

Coming later

The story of honey, from hive to jar: how bees work, how honey is made and what makes it taste the way it does.

Honey-tasting & ‘meet the bees’ days

Coming later

A relaxed, hands-off introduction to the bees, followed by a proper honey tasting.

Chick hatching for kids & schools

In development

Watching a chick hatch is quietly magical. We have an incubator, and we’re working up experiences for children, families and school groups.
